Year 9 Go To University
Last week Sandhill View Year 9 students went to university! We took our students to Newcastle University to learn about higher education, how they can apply for university, what it would be like and what pathways it would open for them. Students took part in workshops including games on careers, skills and budgeting. They learnt about different career pathways and how they could get there. As part of the visit we took students on a tour of the university campus where we learnt about the history of the departments and how they had evolved. Students were shown the amazing gym facilities and huge lecture theatres.
Our Year 9 students represented school incredibly well and staff at the university said they were the most engaged, well-behaved group they had worked with. Well done Year 9!
