World Pi Day 2024
To celebrate Pi day, the whole school took part in circle-based activities. From rowing 314m in PE, to instructions on how to make a Spanish pie in MFL, all departments showed how maths is incorporated into so much of everyday life. Students created Pi-ems, made music to the digits of Pi and ordered the computation of Pi throughout time. They designed beautiful circular art pieces and baked delicious circular goods.
Students also had the opportunity to take part in a Pi digit hunt, looking out for maths clues around school leading them to Pi. With the prize of pieing Mr Brown at stake, we had over 90 entries! The lucky winners were invited to a Pi party at 3.14pm, where staff and students ate pie, threw pie at Mr. Brown and Aimee Middleton (Year 9) impressively recited Pi – to 103 digits!
