Frequently Asked Questions by Pupils

Yes. Students with packed lunches are welcome to eat in the school restaurant.

No. All students must remain on premises throughout the school day. A special form signed by your parent called a Pass Out is required for you to leave the premises.

Morning break is between 10:50am and 11:05am. Lunchtime is between 12:55pm and 1:40pm.

Mobile phones and other mobile devices are not permitted to be seen or used within school boundaries. Any phone seen will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day on Fridays only. The school does not accept any responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to any mobile phone or other item whatsoever.

Jewellery is not permitted, however, we do recommend you wear an inexpensive wristwatch for good time keeping.

You may wear make-up, however, it must not easily be noticed. If it is obvious you are wearing make-up from a distance then you are wearing too much. False eye lashes, gel or fake nails and fake tan are not permitted. Extreme hair colourings are also not permitted.

Toilets at the school should not be used between lessons. An attendant will be stationed outside each student W.C to make sure there is no loitering within the toilets. Students should avoid asking to use the toilet during lesson time unless they have a medical pass. We monitor toilet use during lesson time closely and pupils who are found to be abusing their need to visit a toilet during lessons will have a meeting arranged between them, their parents and their Year Leader.

Yes! There are various clubs dotted around the school before school, during lunchtimes as well as extra curricular activities during enrichment on a Wednesday afternoon and after school throughout the week. Please see the 'Extra Curricular Activities' section under the Curriculum menu for more information on what we have to offer.

Tell your teacher immediately. They will ask you in what way you are feeling ill and take action from there, which may include contacting your parents.

Each Year base has a lost and found. Please ask your Head of Year if you think you have lost something. Please be aware the school is not ultimately responsible for the welfare of your property.

We believe that regular homework is very important to help you learn how to work effectively outside of the classroom. We place special emphasis on English, Science and Maths homework though you may receive homework from any of your classes. You will never receive so much homework that you will not have time to do it all and our teachers will always make sure that you have plenty of time and the understanding to complete your homework ahead of time. Remember The LRC Reading Area can be used for homework completion or research in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere. Wednesday afternoons also allow time for enrichment activities which can involve additional study or homework completion in a supportive environment.
