Messages to Year 11
2020 will be a year that is remembered in world history and you are part of that story. Before long, your sense of place in history will have a greater impact on your narrative than the sense of loss at ending your school days so abruptly. None of us could have anticipated the ways things would have turned out, but therein lies the proof of any high quality education; the ability to know what to do when you don't know what to do. None of us know what life is going to throw at us, but we can all learn to make the best of any situation with positivity, proactivity and determination. You have grown so much on your journey through school, there have been highs, lows and unexpected turns along the way. I am privileged to have seen so many of you grow in to such decent, caring and hardworking young people, a credit to your parents, carers, teachers and yourselves. I wish you unlimited success and happiness in the future and hope that you will always have a special place in your heart for Sandhill View. With every possible good wish for the future, Mrs Maw

What a year it’s been! Taking over as your final head of year has been a challenge, especially following the great support and guidance you had from the other Mrs Wright but a challenge I accepted with open arms. There have been many laughs and many tears but it’s all been worth it. Seeing you all grown over these last few months has been wonderful to see. I am so proud of you as a year group because you worked so, so hard in the run up to your GCSEs with the unfortunate decision to then not be able to prove how amazing you actually are. I know you all would have smashed it!! I hope that you are all successful in everything that you do and you know where I am if you ever need me. Good luck class of 2020!

To Year 11, It has been such a pleasure to get to know so many of you over the course of the past three years. I have shared some of my best memories at Sandhill View with you all and I will treasure these forever. The journey of my first Year 11 class has not ended as planned but you should all be so proud of yourselves and I will miss you all! Dream big, have faith in yourself and for the last time ‘You can do it!’.

Well year 11, I’m crying as I write this. I am immensely proud of each and everyone of you. I am so proud to have been your head of year for the last 4 years or so. I am going to miss you all so very much. “Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one” With all my love Mrs Wright.

Year 11 what a pleasure it has been teaching you! Not the way we wanted your time at Sandhill View to end but take comfort in the fact that you have done yourselves proud! Your hard work, determination and amazing personalities have made my job even more enjoyable and I have loved every second teaching you. You have a bright future ahead of you, continue to work hard and be determined but more importantly continue to be you! You all deserve every success in the future. Thank you for making me smile every day. Best wishes for the future, Mrs Parker.

Mr Goodwins Maths class.Best year 11 class i have ever had. I'm so proud of everyone for all the work you did, your commitment and always willing to do that little bit extra. Well doneMr A. GoodwinI’m sure that you all feel cheated right now but remember when things feel out of control the one thing you always have absolute control over is how you react. Stay calm, take some time to relax, dream big and work out exactly what you want your future to look like and then spend this down time to work backwards from “the dream” and plan how to get there in reality! There is no reason whatsoever, with hard work and determination that you can’t reach that goal. Always try to do the right thing whenever possible – integrity is good for the sole, be kind to others and to animals, stay safe and be happy. We are always here if you need us and will certainly never forget the class of 2020!Mrs A. Johnston
