Sandhill view pupils from Year 7 – 9 represented the school at the Sunderland School Games Swimming Gala. The girls took part in a number of team races swimming against schools from around Sunderland. All of our swimmers give 100% in their events and showed great sportsmanship and resilience.

Our Year 7 teams made a cracking start to sporting life at SHV by making the finals for two of their events! The girls showed great effort and determination in the 4x 25m individual medley and managed to secure third place. Our best result of the day came in the 4x 25m freestyle race where the girls managed to establish the lead from the starting whistle. With all four girls putting in a strong performance we manged to hold onto the lead and finish with a gold medal! All of the swimmers did the school proud and hopefully we will see more swimming success in the future.
