Last week a group of our students from Year 8 were treated to a Health Services Taster day at Sunderland University. They got to experience careers such as Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Paramedical Science. The day was filled with a range of different hands on experiences with some of the highlights being, taking vitals in a mock lab, learning how to use a defibrator and feeling more prepared to save a life,  getting to experience how people with different visual impairments would feel while decorating a biscuit, learning some techniques to help people rehabilitate, including the use of a non spill holder for a cup.
