Mr. Goodwin held assemblies upon the importance of attendance. Throughout the school closures, due to the recent pandemic, making every day at school count has become more important than ever. Mr Goodwin used his love of Maths to demonstrate how data clearly shows how closely attendance is linked to achievement. Students had the opportunity to learn that only a few extra days lost at home each term can cost pupils the good grades they need to secure the best jobs, training, or further educational places. Days off mean lost learning which leads to gaps in a pupil’s knowledge. Students should therefore make every effort to attend school unless they are physically unable to or a positive COVID test prevents them.
