Eco Team Back in Action
Eco team have been back at it again since returning to school in September, harvesting the remaining summer crops such as beans, peas, potatoes and desperately waiting for the pumpkins to ripen! Autumn preparations are underway with the old potato beds being cleared and re-edged to be ready to plant this season’s crop of garlic and a selection of Japanese overwintering onion sets going in within the next few months.
We’re also excited to start using our wonderful composting unit, with approx. 30,000 worms munching through food waste from the school canteen and green waste from the school garden! This year the Woodland Trusts ‘Green Tree Award’ turns 15 years old, so as an Eco Team and wider school community we will be taking part in some of their challenges to ‘Go Green in 15’!
