A small number of Year 8 and 9 students started their Design Lab Nation project. The project is all about sustainability, reworking and reusing materials to create another form. We began by a trip to the National Glass Centre working with several artists who has work displayed in the centre. We used the artist’s work to repurpose and design other objects, such as lampshades, bracelets, and children’s toys. We then went on to take part in ceramic and glass workshops. The students got to make their own pot on the pottery wheel and carve into glass using electric files. They all had an amazing day. Next stop is London on Friday 11th March!
