What happens when school reopens on Monday 8th March?
All other Covid secure measures will continue to be in operation. There are however, three important additions:
1. All students must wear a face mask at all times when in the school building (unless they are medically exempt in which case they may wear a face shield). Extending the use of face coverings to classrooms is a temporary measure until Easter, and as with all measures the government will keep it under review. Please ensure your child has a mask and at least one spare mask everyday they are onsite.
2. All secondary school and college students will take three COVID-19 tests at existing school testing facilities. The tests should be taken 3-5 days apart. If you have not yet completed a consent form for testing your child please do so ASAP by clicking the this link.
3. After the initial programme of three tests in school, students will be provided with two rapid tests to use each week at home. Students who have not taken the three COVID-19 tests in school will not qualify for home testing kits.
Our testing team have been operational since January and we are confident that we will be able to test one full year group each day, whilst maintaining the required social distances. The testing timetable including the date your child will return to school is shown below. You will be contacted via the MyED App with details of your child’s test appointment. Students must not arrive sooner than their appointment time as all staff will be either be involved with testing or teaching and therefore not available to provide additional supervision.
