A group of our Year 8 students have been taking part in the first Lego League tournament this year. This is the first time we have taken part in this as part of our STEM programme. The students have been met by three challenges. Firstly, they must build, code and manage a robot driving round a Lego city to perform various tasks – not easy! Secondly, the students have to identify a problem in their local area and design a solution using Lego. Our students have identified a local area that is not as well maintained as it could be and designed a solution to this.
 
Finally, and most importantly, they have to present all of this to a panel of judges. In this they will also be judged on how well they have worked as a team. The competition is due to take place on Wednesday 11^th December. Wish us luck!
