Army Youth Challenge
Students from year’s 9 and 10 travelled to Albemarle Barracks to take part in the Army Youth Challenge course. Students took part in activities such as an assault course, fitness tests, bridge building, observation tasks and a careers talk. The students successfully completed the activities and showed life skills such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, personal discipline and resilience. All of the students enjoyed their day out and had fun joining in with the activities and interacting with the Army staff. Some said that they had had fun and were pleased they were taken out of their comfort zone. The staff at the barracks said that Sandhill View was one of the best groups they had seen over the 10 days and that our students were really polite, friendly and showed a positive interest in all the activities. They said it was lovely to see such a keen group of students. Well done to all involved!
