All The Facts on Apprenticeships
Year 11 students had the opportunity to meet with different further education, apprenticeship and training providers to explore different pathways for their future study at the end of Year 11. All students must continue in education or training until the age of 18. This does not mean that they must stay in school, but they can choose from a range of options such as Full-time education at a school, college or training provider, or work-based learning such as an apprenticeship or traineeship. Newcastle College presented the range of courses available there, including vocational courses. The Apprenticeship Service presented the facts about apprenticeships, with employers such as Seta and BGL (Compare The Market) talking about the different apprenticeships they provide. Finally, Springboard presented the range of courses that they offer as a training provider. All students in Year 11 will have a Careers Guidance Interview with Mrs Robinson, our Careers Advisor. If any parents or students who like to discuss career options further, please email careers@sandhillview.com.
