Year 9 art students have been creating artwork exploring the current situation in Afghanistan inspired by the work of Shamsia Hassani. Hassani is the first female graffiti artist of Afghanistan who goes by the motto ‘Art changes people’s minds and people change the world.’ Hassani has inspired hundreds of Afghans to bring their creativity through her graffiti festival, art classes and exhibitions in different countries around the world. We hope our students can take inspiration from this as they try to understand this complex current event whilst practising their creative art skills.
