A Lake Side Adventure for Generation Green
This week students from Year 8 and Year 9 have taken part in this year’s Generation Green project which is a collaborative project from the Youth Hostel Association, National Parks Authorities, and the Field Studies Council. This project has enabled students to become immersed into life in a Protected Landscape, exploring Loughrigg Fell, Rydal Caves and amazing views of Grasmere and Rydal Water.
Students have taken part in a range of activities from fire starting, shelter building, creating habitat houses, experimenting with natural insulation, camp fires plus a range of friendly football, pool and table tennis games!
Students have experienced the true range of weather that the Lake District can offer from glorious sunshine to torrential downpours, however each and every student completely embraced each part of the 3 days of the residential and represented Sandhill View proudly!
