On Expedition
The second group of Year 11 students successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition last week. The group set off early on Saturday morning in heavy rain. They then completed their 10km hike before successfully setting up camp for the night. The group then cooked their own expedition meals and enjoyed toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate.
The group woke to wet conditions the following morning and powered through another 10km, before safely arriving back at the minibus and heading home. The group are inspired to get out on some more hikes and enjoy the great outdoors!
Sadly, they were also one of the last group of people to appreciate the famous ‘Sycamore Gap’ on their trek, after the famous tree was cut down in an act of vandalism earlier this week. It’s memory is something we hope they keep with them for the rest of their lives.
